This year has made us so thankful for each other and the community here in Staten Island.
It’s because of you that this GivingTuesday is so special. It not only provides the opportunity to help support the Staten Island Holocaust Center (SIHC) by making a donation on a global day of generosity, but GivingTuesday also allows SIHC’s art collection, archives, and Holocaust Education programs to grow and thrive thanks to your gift.
In 2023 alone, SIHC has offered programs, events, partnership initiatives, and sponsorship opportunities that have made a positive impact across Staten Island and within the community by:
Presenting the “Commemorating Kristallnacht” art exhibit event at the JCC of Staten Island.
Attending the March for Israel gathering in Washington DC.
Partnering with Ganzach Kiddush Hashem in Israel and Amud Aish Memorial Museum in Brooklyn.
Partnering with Ninth Candle to present Holocaust Education to PS 11 High School students in Staten Island.
Providing Holocaust Education class presentation with Staten Island resident and Holocaust survivor, Arthur Spielman, with Port Richmond High School students.
Raising Holocaust Education awareness in Staten Island and beyond.
And those are just a few of the many highlights of how the Staten Island Holocaust continues to make a difference all year round. In addition, the SIHC commemorates the individual stories of local Holocaust survivors, remarkable Jewish community members, and area newsmakers as a means to combat antisemitism and all forms of prejudice, as we prepare to once again take part in the Shine A Light on Antisemitism campaign this December.
